The Upper School play - 'ShakeSPLOSION!!!' - had its opening night last week and was received with huge enthusiasm by audiences.

The play was high-speed journey through every play written by Shakespeare. "From 235 years of English kings in the History Plays, to (nearly) every bloody death in the Tragedies, to every girl who dressed up as a boy in the Comedies, it is like watching Shakespeare's entire canon fired out of a cannon—scattering prose, verse and characters across the stage. Sword fights! Word fights! Witches, ghosts and murder! Al in 80 minutes!"

The actors were impressive as the fast repartee required the actors' lines to be perfectly timed and accurate - there was little room for any error. The audience was drawn into the witty comedy and the stripped back production ensured the actors' considerable talents were not eclipsed by an overly-laden stage or excessive use of props.

Well done all - a special mention to the Director of Performing Arts, Mr Simon Bridge, who portrayed a series of unfortunate characters who ended up dead on stage...
