Model United Nations Conference Duabi (DIAMUN 2016)

    DIAMUN 2016

From 16th-19th March, eleven Brighton College pupils formed a delegation to the 8th annual Dubai International Academy Model United Nations conference.

The pupils had a thoroughly enjoyable and intellectually stimulating four days, representing the World Trade Organisation and the Philippines. The theme of the conference was 'Women and Development", which gave the delegates the opportunity to engage with the resolution of some of the most pressing global issues facing the international community today. With over one thousand delegates from 42 schools across three continents, the Brighton College delegates managed the impressive feat of seeing three of their resolutions passed, all the more impressive given that this was Brighton College's first year at the conference.

Mr. Hall and Miss Long were bowled over by the energy and enthusiasm of the delegates and by their professionalism and maturity. Hopefully this will become a regular feature on the Brighton College calendar in years to come.

    Well done all!
