Brighton College Al Ain achieves 100% A* in first GCSE results!

Record-breaking results include a ‘perfect score’ for Brighton girl

Pupils at Brighton College Al Ain are celebrating after achieving 100% A* grades in the first set of GCSE results recorded by Abu Dhabi’s highest ranked school. The spectacular results were achieved by early entry pupils in Year 10, each of whom also achieved A* grades in every module undertaken.

The spectacular results also featured some memorable individual success stories, including a ‘perfect score’ for Natalia Ramos Narvaez, placing her at the summit of over 700,000 GCSE students worldwide. Natalia,15, scored a remarkable 300 marks out of 300 across all four modules of her examination.

David Tongue, Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain, commented: “These results have been made possible thanks to the dedication of our wonderful pupils and the skill of our world-class teachers. “We warmly congratulate our pupils on their truly exceptional results and look forward to enjoying further success when our first Year 11 cohort undertakes GCSE examinations later this academic year.”

Brighton College’s status as the highest ranked school in the Abu Dhabi emirate, together with its universally ‘excellent’ grades in a recent inspection by Brighton College UK, has resulted in a 40% increase in admissions enquiries over the last year and over 1,700 applications for teaching positions at the College this academic year.

New teachers at the College include an Olympian, a published novelist, a professional dancer and a Politics, Philosophy and Economics graduate from Oxford University.

David Tongue said: “The immense talent of the Common Room lies at the heart of our success since Brighton College Al Ain opened its doors to pupils in September 2013.
